Kevin Kindret

I got into construction right out of high school and started my carpentry apprenticeship soon after . Worked in Kelowna until 1982, then for a Kelowna based company but, all the work was out of town , but I did enjoy working and exploring Canada while on the road . I finished my carpentry apprenticeship and moved to Calgary for a year and then Quesnel for a year. I ended up in Whistler Sept 15, 1986 and have never left. Lots of interesting work. Skied and partied for one hard year but paid for it for 3 years. I met my wife Linda in 1990 through the Whistler diving club and have been together since .We started our family late but after having Kristina born in 1999 Aug 25 I wonder why we waited . Linda is 43 and I'm 47 so it looks like no second kid. Since 2000 I have gotten out of heavy construction , I now work for the Whistler Muni in building service. I feel like I'm starting a second life and really lucked out getting this job. I have a bulged disk in my back but because of the type of work I'm doing now, have not missed much work. I had to give up skiing since hurting back this year but played some hockey, but think I'm going to old timers this year. I did win a few championships but I don't think I can play hockey at 11:45 PM anymore and I got a few to many tripping and holding penalties in playoffs this year. Linda and I have not been diving for a few years but still enjoy boating, camping and road trip camping, and definitely after living in Whistler so long are country living people. I really hope to make one of the events and I think it will be me being a late show at the Ramada in 8:00PM . Cheers Kevin Kindret

Gwen Dick (Kroeker)

A month ago my husband Harv and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We have three amazing, beautiful children. Stefani, almost 20, a university student, Katie, 18, just gradded and headed to Sweden to Bible School and Kevin, 15, entering high school.

We have been back living in Kelowna for 16 years and totally love all this great place has to offer for outdoor pursuits. For the nearly 7 years before that Harv and I lived and worked in Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Angola/Namibia. Harv is an aircraft pilot and mechanic and he flew for relief and development groups, doctors and missionaries. It was fabulous and both our girls were born there.

I am an elementary teacher. Presently I work 3 days a week as a "prep" teacher teaching K-3 PE and grade 4 Social Studies. I love it. I also am involved in coaching, only basketball these days.

Harv and I love to cruise on our Goldwing, hike, bike, canoe and camp and then ski all winter and repeat.

I have been fortunate enough since school to have lived in many cities in Canada and have traveled the world with my photography/video which I've been doing since 1981. I have 1 daughter Shantele 27 and grandson Douglas 7 who have just recently moved to Kelowna from Vancouver. She will join Morgan and I at the Ramada for dinner. Shantele will soon make me a grandad again just after this reunion is over. I'm looking forward to the reunion and seeing my family, some still live in Kelowna. Happily I manage to get there a few times a year. My better half Morgan and I enjoy our sailboat which we keep at the www.squamishyachtclub.com as we have lived on the Coast in Brackendale since 1999.
